Belief
PROMPT September 2nd

Be inspired by this quote: "Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning." - Mahatma Gandhi

Belief is everything. Without some germ of an idea telling you that something is within your grasp, none of us would attempt anything. Having parents who believe in your abilities is a great start in life. When I look back at my childhood, although it was perfectly fine, average, I suppose, expectations were low. One wasn’t encouraged to think too much of oneself, so long as you managed to get a job, any job, then that will suffice.
I was listening to a podcast on the radio this morning and the question was posed, “what would you tell your young self?” My initial response was to have more faith in my abilities, to believe that I could.
