Tapa, Landay or Misr'a is folk poetry, a Pashto couplet. Landay means "short" in Pashto. The Tapa or Landay is mostly found in Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. It is called Tapa in the more eastern Pashto dialects.

The elements of the Tapa or landay are:

1. A distich. a poem in 2 lines.
2. syllabic, each line 9 to13 syllables.
3. unrhymed.
In pashtun the end syllabes are ina . u͂na . a͂na or a͂ma.

My lover is returning after long stay far away,
I write a tapa to tell him how much he was missed.
