OLD FRIENDS Open in new Window. (E)
A poem dedicated to my old friends here at WDC
#2167422 by Monty Author IconMail Icon

I wish once more to find the friends that I miss so. Use this line in your Blog entry today.

I know exactly what the author means. I had a lot of friends on WDC and lost track of them. They get busy and we get busy and our paths just go separate ways. That's why I like these groups. You grow fond of people and these blog groups allow you to develop a camaraderie with them and hear from them every day. I am a people person and this allows me to get involved in people's lives.

Image for a blog forum I was at the administration office here at the West Virginia Veteran's Home today standing in the line to get my mail. The administrator of the facility was talking to some of us and told us that West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has officially once again put all nursing homes in the state of WV on quarantine status. We are not considered a nursing home. We are a domicile for veterans so we avoided the punch for the time being. However, with the increase in COVID-19 cases it is only a matter of time. The prompt for today then is "How do we continue to trust God during times as these? How can we learn to continue praising him?

For me this wasn't easy. I knew I should always be praising God and I wanted to be praising Him. I just felt so miserable and angry at the world that I didn't have any praise for Him except the fleeting few minutes I was having fun in church. Then I began dealing with the issues that made me angry to begin with. I confronted them head on. I began to see that through it all God had been there for me, protecting me from death. Yes. I was harmed badly quite a few times but I always survived and always recovered. Those survivals were miracles. They taught me to trust God no matter what. I think COVID-19 is going to teach those willing to trust God even more.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs I don't know about you but I'm needing some quiet time, we've been with a lot of people. There are many things available for you to explore. Discuss what works for you.

"This prompt is for both 30 day and BCoF groups. So it will count if you have discussed different things in each post. EX. say in 30 day you discussed yoga and wellness treatment. For it to content you will need to discuss something different like maybe exploring the tibetan massage therapy and art classes or cooking classes.

Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Imagine a place of tranquility and beauty. A place where you connect to yourself and all that surrounds you; body, mind and spirit. This is the newly opened (August 2018) Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary, located high in the beautiful Neyphu valley in Paro. We are a 5+ star boutique resort, aiming to create a lasting positive change in our guests’ daily lives. As guests in our home experience what ‘Inspirational Hospitality’ means to us. We are the only well-being inclusive property in Bhutan, which means all services are included in our room rates. From all meals and snacks to all drinks and minibar (only excluding alcohol) to individually designed well-being programs, including a consult with the traditional medicine doctor, yoga/meditation classes, as well as a wide variety of wellness treatments such as Kunye (Tibetan massage therapy) and Hot Oil Compression. Enjoy many more complimentary services such as art classes, cooking classes, and short excursions surrounding our San
ctuary.{"

I don't have anything to add today. The terrain looks beautiful but I'll never be there in this life time.

Blog City image small "Prompt: Every story has an ending. Every ending has a new beginning. As writers, do you agree with this statement?"

I would agree with that. Even death is a new beginning. For Christians it is a beginning of an eternity with God. For non-believers it is the beginning of eternal separation from God. For those left behind it is the beginning of a life without the lost. Each day is a new beginning. So yes, I would agree.
