A couple, who after several instances of dating, Find their affections to be unabating, May exchange rings as their symbols of mating, And soon are infant-icipating. And while the baby bump grows, Off to preparatory classes they go, To learn all the things they should know, About feedings above, and diapers below. For instance, when something smells strange, And you are far from a livestock exchange, A scent in the nose-holding range, Means that the diaper needs to be changed. First, you need a surface that's stable, So choose the sturdiest table. To make it safely baby-able, You don't want one that's too swayable. Set your baby - boy, girl, or other, With the tapes facing up on the cover. If it is a boy, you're about to discover, Best keep a second diaper in hover. For the mess you’re about to expose, Is bad enough on the nose, But a boy will spray like a hose, As soon as his sprayer’s disclosed. The soiled nappy you then whisk away, Before there can be any foul play. Wash, cream, powder and spray, Till that butt smells like a bouquet. Finally, take a diaper that’s clean, Unsoiled, white and pristine, Fasten well, not too tight o’er the spleen, It won’t be there long - you’ll see what I mean. 32 Lines Promptly Poetry Week 7 Write a poem on how to do something mundane most people take for granted, such as how to tie your shoes, how to turn on a lamp, how to pour a cup of coffee, etc. |
