Monday grilling.
Well my Monday was a quiet one but I did get a good amount done at work. I also bought some steaks to grill. grant it the steaks where thin just so I could get use to using my bucket grill. Needless to say both me and my so wanted more than I had on hand.though the fun thing is that a small bag of charcoal will let me grill three times before being gone. grant it that dose not include adding more as I go; though the fire pan will only hold so much. my next purchase for the grill will be a storage box for the charcoal and a few other things like a metal spatula and a small squirt bottle to help control heat levels if needed. I also need to get a gallon container for water so that if i want I can drop hot coals in to quench the fire out. if i had that I could extend the life of my coals for more than one burn. I do know that when I do that I water log the coals but they make a great base layer for the next time I use the grill and extend the fir life when I do that. the steam from the drying coals also helps even out the temperatures around the fire so food cooks more evenly.

After cooking and eating around the grill I got silly and with my tongs kept moving the coals around the fire pan enjoying the smells and heat from the fire. My son kept popping in and out of the apartment in hopes that I had more meat for us to enjoy.

I think the next time I get charcoal I will get regular charcoal and then a bag of smoking chips to add to the fire. grant it not many near me grill just yet but I have been waiting for neighbors to ask to use my little grill simply because like me they have been longing to get out and do but really cannot do that.
