VBS Day 2: Let's talk about grace and mercy today

Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It means there is nothing I can do to earn it. God gives grace. It is free. No amount of money can buy it and it cannot be stolen. It is given.
Mercy is what God had when He looked upon my sin. He knew there was no way I was going to save myself, yet justice demanded that I die for my sin. In mercy God had compassion on me and made it possible for me to escape death by having faith in the death and resurrection of His Son. Mercy and grace are what form me in Christ on a daily basis.

I always thought this story was funny. I nearly died laughing as I wrote it.

Blog City image small "Prompt: A wall clock subtly reminds whoever reads it to stay in the moment. What does “to stay in the moment” mean to you, and how easy or difficult is it to stay in the moment?"

Staying in the moment means doing right now what needs to be done right now. The past is set in stone and the five minutes from now is too unpredictable. Worry about right now and the rest will be okay.
