12th of Ridvan and May Day
TWELFTH OF RIDVAN
It is 1863. Today is the last day in the Garden of Ridvan in Baghdad. Baha'u'llah has made his announcement and leaves for exile in Edirne. He will never return, being further exiled to Akka.
This is all history.
I feel self-exiled at times. But there is no comparison. I only know that one can choose to be happy regardless.
I'm not happy.
Today is May Day, Labor Day, my favorite month. Perhaps that will cheer me up. Perhaps I'll even do the wash.
Update: Ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. Chatted with friends. This lightens my mood. Reading "Goodbye to the Orchard", poems by Steven Cramer. Will finish watching "The Apartment" today. I really like the performances by Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine but have been having problems watching anything.
