New update

New computer arrived a day early (though late in the day) and I am currently setting it up with the back up from my old machine. I will have some other setting up tomorrow but I hope to resume on Saturday everything that I left off.

EDIT: Update to update. The backup transferred everything over okay (it appears) and I'm typing this from the new computer. So now it's just a matter of updating various programs and finishing the set up, which will be my project for tomorrow.

EDITx2, UPDATEx3: The bad news is that Microsoft wants $70 a year to let me use MS Word on my new computer. The good news is that Apple's Pages program will let me open up my old Word documents, so I think I'll be able to give Bill Gates the finger he so richly deserves.
