Not a Good Start for a New Year

Yes, I know that I blogged yesterday that I was going to write and post these blog entries as soon after midnight WDC time as possible. But when I wrote that I had forgotten that I was working four hours OT yesterday. Which turned out to be four hours and thirty-five minutes. That’s why this blog entry is so late today.

Now for some more bad news. I didn’t get too much writing done yesterday at work. In fact, I only got the Teaser Act One for my movie Outline written. That’s only seven three-line paragraphs. That does read so good, does it? No, it doesn’t. Because it isn’t very good. In fact, it’s worse than any Wednesday that I have been able to write on. That’s how bad it is.

What is the usual reason why I don’t get too much writing done at work? That’s right, it’s work. And yesterday that is very, very true. It was mostly their fault. Especially, the first two hours of my twelve plus hour shift. That’s because I was working at the main gate. They call it the gateway. But I call it the main gate. Either way, you call it I couldn’t do any writing during that time.

The next six hours I was at my regular post. But it was very busy there yesterday. One of the busiest ones that I have had in a long time. If it wasn’t the busiest one so far. I can’t say that for the whole year since this is the beginning of a new one. But I can say it is for the past twelve months, though.

For the next four hours and thirty-five minutes, I was on my Wednesday post. And it was very, very busy there too. but that isn’t the reason why I didn’t get any more writing done. I know that I should have tried to do some more. After all, even a little bit is better than none. I’m a big believer in that. But I just didn’t feel like doing it.

I don’t know how much writing I’m going to be able to do today. I’m hoping a lot. But that all depends on work. And if I’m working my whole shift at my regular post. If I am, I may get quite a bit of writing down on my Water Wars scriptwriting project. But if I’m only working there, part of my shift again I may not get too much written today either. I do know one thing, though. Today can’t too much worse than it was yesterday.
