Yesterday, we looked to the past. Today, we’ll write about the future! (No resolutions, I promise, Robert )
2030 sounds so futuristic, but it’s only ten years away! What do you think the world will be like ten years from now? What inventions do you think we will have by then? What are some changes you think will happen in the world in the next ten years?
I'm hoping my corner of the world will be slow to change over the next decade. I am surrounded by a Redwood forest, my garden has mostly native plants. I have watched over the decades as fewer and fewer butterflies and bees visit my oasis and it frightens me.
I have seen amazing progress in technology, medicine, and travel over my 78 years here on this planet and I have embraced what improved my life. I'm here, aren't I? But we are now dramatically experiencing the results of the damage done to our environment by much of this progress.
There are no flying saucers zipping around in my imagination. I can only dream that future focus will be directed at cleaning up the environment. God's creation was perfect and we were charged with its care. In our arrogance, we ignore our responsibility in favor of "progress". It is past time we recognized that.
