A terminal for all blogs coming in or going out. A view into my life. |
I agree with many: I do like the sound of silence. I don't have television at home except for an old vhs tv. I rarely watch movies. I do have a radio and I am listening to it now. There's a Montana-Idaho game on. I also occasionally go to Radio Garden online and listen to a radio station somewhere in the world. I often tune in to Radio Tromsø when I do. But I do like silence. The prompt mentions other than music... but let's go there. It's my blog after all! I love English horn. I'm fine with bassoon and oboe as long as it's not too shrill. I love cello. I'm fine with viola and bass is okay. But violin... depends. It can remind me of claws on a chalkboard. Harp is either or. I love it or it annoys me. Same with piano. Brass? It's all okay if it isn't blaring for too long. Drums. Fond of the timpani but less for others if whoever is playing is banging away instead of providing rhythm and beat. I like the bodhran. Triangles, cymbals, wood block, glockenspiel? Depends. Voice? Love it or meh... It's a lovely instrument that's easily abused. Everyone has mentioned nature. I'd add wind chimes. Many lovely sounds. Not sure that anyone mentioned trains or traffic... annoys lots of people... but for me it's a nice background sound. What I hate? Booming bass. It's heard throughout my body. Very disturbing. Oh... and certain shrill accents (like some folks in the NYC area and Afrikaans/Dutch in general). 549 |
