A terminal for all blogs coming in or going out. A view into my life. |
I would characterize "Well Read and Dead" by Catherine O'Connell as pulp fiction. It was easy breezy to read and at times interesting. A bit formalaic but with enough twist to keep it engaging. One week = one book. I need to do better. At least I'm feeling a tad better. I did get out to the bank, the post office, and visited some places with First Friday events. I have been out-of-town and out-of-tune. ZACC has a new space in the Studebaker Building and the WMTLGBTQ Center has expanded and renovated with a conference this weekend I didn't hear about. I don't hear about much of anything. Will there be a Day of the Dead event tonight? I dunno. I just checked the internet... 7 p.m. It was a growing event until crippled by controversy 2 years ago. I did hear about soup-on-sale at Albertsons. Kathy and I went yesterday. I bought 10 cans of Progresso for $9.90. Campbells is on sale at Orange Food Farm; also 99 cents each. I stock up for winter. Winter... no traveling planned for the month of November. Last year I went to Mexico where I couldn't breathe. A bit concerned that I have no travel plans for December and January and those two months can be dreadfully depressing here as the city sits under grey clouds (winter inversion), snowbirds fly to Arizona and the students go home. And "holidays" may be fun for working folks with families... but not for the rest of us. Very little to do; few places to go. So... books. Need to start another today. 528 |
