Deliverance:
To The Bab

Salvation is gained--
deliverance from insistent self--
through obedience to God's Manifestation,
through steadfastness in His covenant.

I contemplate the steadfastness
of the Letter of the Living,
of the twenty thousand Babis
who gave their lives
to spread the joyful news
that God's Promised one had come.

Twenty thousand souls ascended
into paradise
to join the Beloved Bab:
their salvation--
their deliverance--
was obedience to the Bab.
