Why This Blog Entry is So Late Today

It’s because I worked four hours of OT at work yesterday. I didn’t get home until about three-thirty WDC time. And as soon as I did get home, I started working on my WDC Short Story for this month. Just finished writing the next two parts of it right before I started writing this blog entry for today.

Because of the time of day, I didn’t think that I would get them done. but I did. That’s mostly to me having part of the second one already done. Of course, I changed that a little bit when I thought about how to finish it before I went to sleep last night. I just couldn’t do it until I got home from work.

The third part wasn’t that hard to write either. Once I started writing it, I couldn’t stop until I finished it. My only problem with it is its length. Like the first part, I’m going to have to do a lot of editing with it. I might be able to make up part of the editing with the fourth and fifth part. Already have a little with the second one.

What I am trying to write is that I still have a very good chance of still entering the WDC Short Story contest for this month. When I got the OT offered to me, I didn’t think that I would get them both done. But I did. Now all I need to do is get the last two done tonight when I get home from work. Then I will have almost half a day to edit it before I can enter this contest for this month.

That’s enough about my WDC Short Story. Now for some more good news. I finished the first episode single sentences Treatment for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. At first, I didn’t think that I would be able to do it because it took me so long to do Act Three. But once I got that done Act Four and the Tag Act just flowed out of my fingers through my pencils onto the papers. It took me almost all my normal shift to do it. But I did get it done.

Because of the OT, I probably could have gotten at least the Teaser Act of the second episode done. Maybe even Act One too. but I decided not to do it. We were right in the middle of a major rainstorm. And I didn’t know if I could concentrate on doing it. At least not the way I wanted it to be written. Does that make any sense to you? It doesn’t me either. And I’m the one writing it.

Besides, I have all weekend to do the second episode. And I might need the whole weekend too. after all, it’s supposed to rain all day today too. Luckily, it’s Saturday. So, work shouldn’t interfere with my writing. But the weather might. If I can get the Teaser Act and Act One done, I should be able to get the rest of it done tomorrow. And if I can do that then I can start the more difficult single paragraphs next Wednesday when I return to work.
