7 - Mastered It

my cruelty showed in so many different ways.
you lifted the veil, it just revealed another maze.
and i'm not satisfied, but what's done is done.
i've grown so much in the time since you've been gone.
there's no pride in my past, i'll find a way to move on.
perfection and mistakes have such a subtle nuance.
it took a substance for me to leave you all alone,
but you found it in your heart to vanish on your own.
while i call, you throw it in, quit and fold.
i sit alone in darkness and wrap myself within the cold.
i fell sometimes, but showed resilience in my fight,
you pulled the carpet from under me as you jumped
on it to flight.
i could block the world out, knowing you never asked for it.
in the end, you disappeared, i guess you really mastered it.
