Birthday Card With Gifts
This is the day of your nativity,
A day that will go down in history,
Raise your voice exultation,
So that we can begin the celebration.
Today you turn nineteen years old,
Here is a handful of fools gold,
To remind you that appearances can deceive,
Sometimes what you see, you can't believe.
Here is a book of ancient verse,
It will remove depression's curse,
If read with your morning cup of joe,
Or in winter as you watch the snow.
Here is a journal for your gratitude,
It will help inspire a positive mood,
And help melancholy to elude.
To guide you through the darkest night,
A lamp of eternal light,
Just switch it on to find your way,
Along life's caltrop covered highway.
