This Blog isn't just for my scriptwriting Projects. It's also for my other activities. |
Trying Something New, Again A few days ago, I wrote in my blog entry that I was looking at my old Water Wars spreadsheet and I found out that I was doing repetition big time. That isn’t true. The spreadsheet that I was looking at was an earlier version. It’s the most recent one that wasn’t repetitive. That’s the one that I was working on when I realized that I was doing it for the wrong time frame. The main reason why I decided to start over again is that instead of a fifty-minute episode it should be a forty-five-minute-ones. That’s when I started working on this spreadsheet. I accomplished reducing the time by taking off five scenes from the four regular Acts from my episodes. And I didn’t think that it would be so big of a problem. But it has been. It has been a very big one for me. During my two days off, what little time I had, I went back to the old spreadsheet to see how I did it. And I noticed what my problem solving may be about. Why I’m having so much trouble with it. It’s because I’m being too formatting with it. I need to mix it up a little as I did with the old one. That is what I have been doing yesterday at work and since I have gotten home from work. It looks promising. But it hasn’t worked out that way so far. I haven’t given up on it yet, though. I’m going to continue working on it today at work too. I thought about saving my spreadsheet to the cloud to use as a reference today. But I decided not to do that for a couple of reasons. One is that I don’t like putting any of my writing into the cloud. I know that they say that it’s safe to put it there. That no one will see it but me. But I still don’t trust it. The main reason why I’m not doing it is that the only way to access the cloud is through my phone. And I don’t want to do that. It will slow me down too much. Going back and forth doing it. Besides, it’s so hard to read it on my phone. I know that I can zoom in on it. But I’m still not sure how to do to that.
