A Good Excuse Why I Didn’t Get More Writing Done Yesterday

When I got to work yesterday, I learned that my first four hours of my shift that day and today are at another post. It’s not that the new post was more time consuming than my regular one, but I wasn’t there alone. In fact, I was in training there. So, I didn’t get the chance to do any writing until the second half of my shift.

Once I got to my regular post, I did start working on my Water Wars repetition problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t help me too much. The lack of four hours did hurt me some. But it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway. It would have just meant four extra hours of not solving my repetition problem.

True, I was in training for the first four hours. And I couldn’t do any writing. But it wasn’t all bad, though. the training part wasn’t that hard to learn. And it wasn’t that busy of a day at that post either. What I am trying to write about is that I had a lot of time to think about my writing. True, it didn’t help me out too much. But I did think of one thing that I could try that I have thought about before but not acted on yet.

That one thing was to look at the old spreadsheet. True, it was different now with the five fewer scenes per the four main acts of these stories. But it would still give me some ideas about how I may solve my repetition problem. So, when I got home from work, I looked at it. What I found were two things. One was that I may have solved my problem. The other one is that I had the repetition problem in the old format too. I just didn’t realize it until now. Also didn’t realize it was even worse than I have been trying to solve for the last few weeks.

With what I have learned from the old spreadsheet I may have come up with a way to solve my repetition problem. I don’t know if it will work or not. But I’m going to try it. Even with only four hours today to do it I still could get it solved today. I’m hoping that I will. But I won’t know that for sure until I try.

I thought about starting it today before I go to sleep. But I only got about five hours of sleep last night because of the OT. So, I decided not to try to do it. I’m so tired I was afraid that I would mess it up. It’s best if I continue working on my Water Wars project at work. At least I think that it is.
