Wading in the Surf

I inhale the fragrance of the ocean,
sale water washes across my bare feet
cooling the burning of the hot sand.

The waves roll in,
the waves roll out,
whispering sweet adventure
to my muse,
and enhancing the laughter
of other people wading
in the surf.

The tranquility
of the Pacific Ocean
washes away my worries,
I am happy,
I smile,
and I laugh.
