Re The GOP memes about Democrats being Socialists:

"They will paint all of us as socialists though. It's code for anyone who-gives-a-damn about others... and they apparently don't. The scare tactic will work until reasonable folks understand that public education is "socialist" as are libraries, rural-electrification, highways and bridges. Some of my friends still won't care because they believe that they can do it all alone and despise any regulation that tells them what to do (like vaccinate their children or teach them sex-education or respect groups of people who are "different")."

May I add all the memes pointing to Venezuela as a living reminder that Socialism doesn't work... and their silence when I point out my experiences in Norway. Venezuela is failing, has been failing, but the USA is not interested in the plight of common people or helping the government sort it out. Just finger pointing, mud-slinging and lying about socialism (or the better term democratic-socialism).
