Poem About A Stray Kitten, Picnic
India packed the picnic basket. Chicken, potato salad,
potato chips, baked beans, chocolate cake and cold
lemonade. A blue blanket and a red checkered table cloth.
Her boyfriend Paul pulled up in his red convertible.

India was wearing a pink sundress and Paul whistled
and she got in the red convertible, a kiss from Paul
and off to the park they went. They found a quiet spot
and unloaded the car. Everything was ready for the picnic.

Oh no! She was out of ice cubes and the lemonade was warm.
She looked in the tree and there was a kite stuck in a tree
and a cute, tabby kitten ran up to her. No mother cat or
other cats. He was a stray. India picked up him and hugged him.

It started to rain so India and Paul went back to her house.
She lived in a cute, blue cozy cottage and she and Paul ate
their picnic dinner. She gave the kitty some chicken and some
milk. She went to the store later to buy him food and supplies.

The kitten curled up with her and purred. She had found a new pet.
She and Paul married and the kitten grew. She didn't run out of ice
cubes anymore and she was content to cook meals. She was glad she had
Paul and the kitten who was now a cat she named Sir Lancelot.
