PROMPT: What is your learning style? Do you prefer to learn through reading, images, audio, discussion, hands on, etc.? What is something new you learned in the last 30 days? I think my learning style is hands on. When I read I need to read it a couple of time, without taking notes, before I can retain everything I want. If I take notes, I only have to read it once. In some cases images help me retain, especially if I can study and meditate on the image. I guess you could say I have a mixed learning style. Which good, because at my age I need all the help I can get when it comes to learning and retaining information. What have I learned over the past 30 days? That I want to set down and cry, but I doubt it would do any good. Right now I'm descending into a depression that I've been fighting, without much success, for the past month (at least). The basic problem is my financial situation, which has been depressing since I moved into this apartment. Ever since we moved into this apartment, it's been one damn thing after another. First there were the mice. Now were fighting bedbugs. The leasing company doesn't do anything, except collect rent. There are things in this apartment that needed fixing when we moved in, but haven't been fixed. I turned in several things that needed fixing that haven't been fixed. I talked to someone from the city last week about the bedbugs, but (apparently) nothing has come of that. I got a loan from a payday loan company a couple of months ago, which I have to pay back. Unfortunately, I suspect I may have to get one from another loan company, which I think is a bad idea; however, I thought getting the first loan was a bad idea and I got it anyway. I know, or at least think I know, there is a solution; however, I can't see it. Maybe I'm too close to the problem to see around it. Now that I've had my rant of the week or the month, depending on how things go the rest of the week, I'm going to close this and post it. |
