PROMPT: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

What did I want to be when I grew up? I wanted to be married, because I thought that--even when a woman worked outside the her home--she was not fulfilled until she had children and a husband to take care of. Thank God I never married any of the guys I had intimate relationships with. I did give birth to a daughter, which I gave up for adoption (one of the two wisest things I ever did).

“If I'm sincere today, what does it matter if I regret it tomorrow?”
José Saramago, Blindness

Do I regret never marrying? Sometimes. Do I regret giving my daughter up for someone else to raise? Sometimes. Regrets are a part of growing up. Thinking back over both questions, I would probably have had more regrets if I had made different choices. Fortunately, once a choice is made and carried out, people can't go back in time to change their minds or their choices. As long as one is sincere about the choices on makes, regrets don't matters
