Fifteen is Good for a Weekday, But It's Not for the Weekend
Fifteen is Good for a Weekday, But It’s Not for the Weekend

When I was doing the movie Treatment for my Water Wars scriptwriting project I was doing about twice as many scene paragraphs on Saturday. But yesterday I only did fifteen. Which is three times better than I have the last three weekdays. Friday it was fifteen times better. Why is it taking me so long to do the episode Treatments?

I’m not sure what is wrong. Maybe it’s the storyline. Then again, it may be the first episode that needs to be perfect syndrome. The first episode can either establish a television series or it can destroy it. For most viewers, it’s the first three episodes before they decide if they like it or not. But for a lot like my brother, it’s one episode.

I know that I can always change it once I start typing them into my laptop. Especially, if I have the written line count wrong. I may need to do a lot of that with my scene paragraphs if I got the handwritten line lengths wrong versus the number of lines. Does this explanation read confusing to you? It does to me. And I’m the one who is doing it. I think it will make more sense after I finish writing my Outlines and Treatment.

Unlike scripts that don’t have any length requirements except for those required by script format, my Outlines and Treatments do. That can be very hard to do sometimes. I know that if I free wrote them like a script it would be a lot easier to do. At least it should be. But that’s not the way that I think that they should be written.

Yes, I would like to blame work for me not getting more written. Unfortunately, I can’t do that. It was a typical Saturday. In fact, it was the slowest Saturday that I have worked so far. Part of that reason is because of the weather. When I got to work it was pouring down rain. I got soaked getting inside. Of course, once I got there the rain stopped soon after that. So, I can’t blame either work or the weather.

I did get kind of a late start in my writing yesterday, though. not because of work or the weather, but because of the Security Officer, I replaced. Her ride was late in getting there. I probably could have started writing. But I didn’t want to be rude. It could be because of what I watched on my cell phone too. I decided on getting caught up on my DVR recording. Which included two television shows and six daytime drama episodes. But I don’t think that’s the reason either. It may have slowed me down a little. I don’t think that it did that much, though.

What am I going to do today at work? I’m going to continue working on my Water Wars scene paragraphs. I hope that I can get at least fifteen more paragraphs done today too. But I’m hoping to get about twenty to thirty done. That’s not as hard as it may read after the last few days. Some of those paragraphs are going to be Establishing shots as I finish Act One and begin Act Two.
