Tests and difficulties plow
the field of the soul:
turn the soil of faith.

Standing at the hearth of certitude,
the defiant seeker
falls upon her knees begging forgiveness.

In the serenity
of meditation,
the contrite lover
chooses to care
for the family
of humanity
and to nurse
it back to health.
