Gibberish
Gibberish
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves...
Carroll's words seem gibberish,
yet so familiar in their sounds,
the way they mesmerize and swish,
they entice me with their tone.
Is there an obscure message here,
one that's known to just a few?
Perhaps if I read them aloud
some kind of meaning would accrue
as I sit and ponder them alone.
The words are wrapped in cellophane;
they're clear, yet seem distorted.
If I could solve their mystery
perhaps I'd be transported
to a land created by his mind.
A place where Kings and Queens exist,
a cat's grin floats in a tree;
a place where normal takes a twist
as a Walrus wails by the sea ...
a place that's truly unconfined.
The more I think, the more I'm sure
this was created as a trap.
There are no arcane meanings here,
no clandestine word map ...
How could I have been so blind?
Perhaps it's as White Rabbit said:
"The only meaning's in your head."
