The Birds of March1

A sparrow is singing,
nesting in the pine tree across the street,
the pigeons nesting above my door
are silent
listening to the sparrow's serenade.

Today I am thankful ...
          ...that my Bank of America checking account is not overdrawn today.
          ...for fresh brewed hot back coffee on this chilly morning.
          ...that I have 501 points in my Survey Junkie account.
          ...for the real hot chocolate (made with real cow's milk) I had before I went to sleep last night.
          ...that I have 835 points in my Survey Spot account.
