Moving Forward In Time

Step by step I move into the future,
one day at a time I advance into tomorrow:
What future time would I chose,
that could be better than the day in which I live?

I would like to walk on the moon or Mars,
I would like to travel to the stars,
but I was born in this epoch,
the most exciting and portentous age
in human history.

I am living in the dawn of a new era,
this is the day
when world peace will be established,
and my duty is to proclaim
the joyous news to all.

The prompt: "Yesterday, you went back in the history and tomorrow...we're going to a point in the future of your choosing. What do you think will be different about that time? Were you involved in the change?" After contemplating the prompt, I decided that the poem was my only response.
