What strategies do you use to manage stress in your life?

Managing Stress

The question has been ask: "How do I manage stress?" Which is an appropriate question this early in 2019. I have dealt with stress since the the last week of November 2018, when we begin planning the move from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom. I was without Internet access for an entire week. When we moved into the one-bedroom apartment we found out the refrigerator was going out. We found this out because the motor wake you up in the middle of the night when it was turning off and on. The landlord brought in a new refrigerator.

The adventure continued with the arrival of mice. We caught nine mice, in glue traps, in December. So far in January we have caught ten mice. In addition, to the mice, there are financial issues because moving cost money. Even when you move only two apartments down from your old apartment. So, how do I handle all this stress? Through prayer, meditation, eating chocolate, writing, taking a short walk, and reigning in my wild imagination.

Take action
before the stress
puts your mind and soul
in traction.

Inhale,
Exhale,
"I cannot fail!"

Take a meditation break,
a prayer break,
a chocolate break,
a rant break,
a laughter break--
call the break whatever you want,
but take a short break.

Walk to the water cooler,
walk to the break room,
walk briskly down the hall--
look and act as if you are going someplace important
with a purpose.

Smile,
make people wonder
what you are up to.
