Art as an Act of Worship

Stroke by stroke
lines merge into shaded patterns of light,
expressing the textures of praise.

Even in the mundane
occurrences of daily life,
the sacred is revealed
in vibrant shades of prismed light.

Character by character
words merge into sentences,
expressing the connotations of praise.

Inch by inch
steps merge into movements,
worshiping the Creator through the dance.

Tone by tone
chords merge into music,
intoning the melody of praise.

Concept by concept
forms of expression--of worship--
unknown to or undreamed of
by an earlier civilization--
a younger race--
emerge from the veil of concealment.
