An image for a blog that I hope will take root. Prompt: Pray for one another. What should we pray for for you?

My biggest need is holiness. I struggle with sin everyday. My particular sin is impurity. I am now a widower as my wife passed away in September 2014. I struggle each day to keep my body under subjection to the Lord. Paul told us if we were unmarried that we should stay that way to better serve the Lord because a married Christian has to divide his attention with his wife. However he added that it was better to marry than to burn with lust. I am unmarried and find that I am constantly under temptation to act out sexually in some way. I have prayed and asked God to remove this thorn from my eye and He seems to be ignoring me. Please pray with me about it. I have no desire to sin against God. Nor do I wish to be constantly bombarded with impure thoughts and desires.

The bird you see most of around here are sparrows one that I believe is called a kill deer or something like that. Of course we have a lot of crows and ravens as well. As to a favorite bird I really have no favorite. I guess that if I had to pick a favorite I would probably pick a talking bird like a parrot or cockatiel. I had a cockatiel once and sold it to my mother-in-law. It spoke quite a few words. It was the best alarm system I ever had. Even when I had put the cover on it for the night it would alert us to people near the house. One night a teenage boy broke into my house. I was asleep but the bird knew the kid had come in. I awoke to hear myself having a conversation with the boy. The bird had become adept at mimicking my voice. So when the bird spoke to the boy it used my voice. I heard the boy profusely apologizing for breaking in. He said he had been cold and simply wanted to warm up. He had saw my son easily get the door open without a key and he had done the same thing to warm up. I went into the room where he was, scolded him for not knocking, and gave him some hot cocoa to warm him. Then I sent him on his way. I asked him before he left if my bird had scared him. He said it had because he thought it was I and that I would harm him. I told him he knew better than that. I was a Christian. I would rather not become violent. He warmed up and went on his way. After that most of my late night visitors knew to knock and I would get up.

Blog City image small Prompt: "Write a story or poem that's inspired by absence or emptiness of a person, place or feeling."

There is no emptiness like the grave
You left me years ago
Now I struggle my soul to save
Why did you leave me so?

I loved you as best I could
I have many times of regret
I did not always love you as I should
Your needs were oft unmet.

My love now lies in the ground
I cannot follow you there
No other for me can be found
Why is life this unfair?

I love you and always will
Why oh why is you heart now still?
