Baha'i Funeral

A coffin lays in state
Holding the darkened mirror
That no longer reflects the soul
This link in life' chain
Is not actually broken
It merely vibrates at a higher rate
In the Abha Paradise

Tears of the mourners fall
Watering their own souls
Flute music accompanies
An orchestra of prayers
Into the Abha Kingdom

A ramp of light ascends
From coffin to sun
A path of gold
Over which the soul
Passes into the next world

God's messenger of joy
Escorts the lover's soul
Into the garden of paradise
