Does the winter weather put you in a Bah Hum Bug mood this time of year? If so, how do you change your mood?

Bah Humbug Mood

I am bordering on a bah humbug mood. The reason is the short dim December day, the long dark December night, and being born on December 24. The combination always makes me nostalgic and depressed. I've found that the best way to dissipate depression is prayer, reading the sacred scriptures, meditation, writing, listening to music, gratitude, and reading and reviewing on writing.com.

Christmas Dream

I looked out my window
and saw
a Christmas cactus blooming in the snow,
beside a sprig of mistletoe.

This must be a dream,
I thought
when up walked a Santa snowman,
with a crystal snow angel.

I smiled,
as the angel reached into a snowbank
and pulled out a jar
of bread and butter pickles.

I didn't want to wake up
because I knew
that doing so
would demolish
this pleasant Christmas dream.
