December the eighth – Script Writing Takes Time
Scriptwriting Takes Time

What does the title for this Blog entry mean? It means that I am a planner and it takes a lot of time to plan a script aka the Outline and the Treatment. Especially if you keep changing your mind how it’s going to be planned. That’s what I was doing all day at work yesterday.

All day Thursday I had a feeling that something was wrong with my Treatment Scene Breakdown. At least that’s what I call it. After all, it is a breakdown of my Treatment. The worst part is I knew what that something was. I like to start and end each Act with the same character. Only I wasn’t doing that.

My ending turned out to be the beginnings of my next Act. I didn’t like that. So, I spent the whole day yesterday trying to work on it. Unfortunately, I didn’t get it figured out yet. I thought that I had it a few times. Even went all the way through setting it up. Only to change my mind about it.

It was close to being right every time, but it just wasn’t right enough. What do I mean by that? It means I still didn’t like it. So, I started again. It was only while I was driving home from work that I realized what the problem was. When I came home, I started working on it again.

Except for Posting my latest genre Prompt for The Daily One Scene Contest, I have been spending the rest of my time working on my Treatment Scene Breakdown. I don’t have it done quite yet, but I am almost there. I’ve got it done except for the secondary characters involved in this movie and television episodes.

I wanted to get that done too before I did this Blog entry and went to sleep, but it’s getting too late to be doing that. So, I’m going to do it at work today. If I feel like it, I’ve got a couple of hours before I leave for work, so I might do it before I go to work, but I doubt it.

More than likely, I will finish it up today when I get to work. I think it’s only going to take an hour if that long. So, I should have plenty of time to do my individual scene breakdown. Don’t know if I will get it done or not, and I probably won’t, but I’m going to get as much of it done as I can.
