Shattered Memories

Smashed
Crushed bits of memory
In shards at my feet
I dance over the sparkling bits
Like tears
That tear at my heart.
Loss envelops me,
As my eyes well
And tracks of tears
Slip over my cheeks.
I cry silently
As I grab a broom
And sweep the fragments
Of my past
Up
And throw them away.
I hold tight to the heart felt memories
That ignite
And burn within my soul.
Christmas will live on
Without the glass
Bobbles.
I will face the changes
Make new memories
And move on.
