Poem from Chapter #11 of The Making of a Preacher
Drinking in the elixir of Heaven,
Salving the heart of its heavy weight,
Hoping for the one, who is hopeless,
Reaching beyond the walled-in soul.

Silence.
Silence.
Silence.

Burdens are lifted,
when God Alone can be seen.
Burdens are given
to The One, Who gives peace.

Cry out to God
when tears are all spent.
Cry out to God
the Vail has been rent.

Leave all your burdens at Calvary.
Leave all your burdens.
Your soul He will free.

The burdens you carry
are not from on High.
The burdens you carry
are Hell's greatest lie.

Salvation is free.
Salvation is paid.
The Savior is He
on Whom all was laid.

The mountain is silent,
and so you should be.
The mountain's your refuge.
Your Lord you will see.
