November the eighth - Only One Page of Wandita Novel Done

Only One Page of Wandita Novel

Unfortunately, the title for this Blog entry is correct. I have only gotten one page of Wandita novel done today so far. Why is it only one page I have gotten done today? There are several reasons why all I have been able to write today is a page and a half of my Wandita novel manuscript. One of those reasons is because it has been a lot more difficult than I thought to re-write the Introduction Chapter for this novel. After all, I just needed to cut it down a manuscript page. How hard can that be? For most writers, it might not be that hard at all, but for me, it’s very hard. Sometimes it’s impossible. Even though I often must delete several hundred words from my short stories, I know it can be done.

It’s not just the number of words, though. I wanted a stronger first paragraph. An Action-oriented one since this is a Science Fiction Action/Adventure novel. Tried to do it with my original draft, but it wasn’t Action oriented enough. So, I tried it another way. In fact, I tried it several ways before I settled on my current way. Unfortunately, it took me about four hours to do that. So, you can see I only have had a few hours to work on it. Will I continue it after I finish this Blog entry? The plan right now is yes. I will try to finish it tonight. Whether I do or not is still unknown, though. I’m going to try, but I don’t know if I will be able to do it or not.

Another reason why I have gotten so little writing done today is that of work. I have been very busy at work today. First, I was introduced to my new Shift Supervisor. Whom came to check up on me. Then another supervisor I think was the Site Supervisor. I also had a lot of trucks going through my gate today. Two of them coming in the wrong way. Which I had to write up a report on. So, you can see it wasn’t just my novel problems. It was also because of work. Hopefully, tomorrow at work will be better.

What are my plans for the rest of this week? Of course, I’m going to continue working on my Wandita and Jessica Strong novels. Right now, it doesn’t look too good that I will get to my Jessica Strong novel this week, but I’m hoping that I will. A lot depends on work. If it continues to be as bad as it was today at work, then I probably won’t get to Jessica Strong. I’ll be lucky if I can get the Wandita one done. It also depends on my continuation of this novel. Now that I have done the first page, I don’t think I will have too much problem with the rest of it. So, I might be able to get them both done this week after all. At least get one done and the other one started. Maybe even get the other one started a lot.
