This Blog isn't just for my scriptwriting Projects. It's also for my other activities. |
Except This Blog No Writing Done Today That’s right I haven’t done any writing except for this Blog. Why is that? There are several reasons why I haven’t done it. The main one is because I have been doing research all day trying to find out what is the acceptable way to write my novels to get them published. What I have found out is that these last six days have been wasted when it comes to my novels. I’ve got to start them all over again. I should have done this research months ago. What have I been doing wrong? Basically, everything. Let us start with the Font. Courier is standard for screenwriting, but it’s not the preferred way with novels. Times New Roman is the standard for novels. Most of the research says that Courier is excepted too, but the most recent article I have found so far is dated 2016 and it says it should be Times New Roman. I’m going to start using that now, but since I have never used it before in my writing, I don’t know how it will turn out. True, my choice of Font is a big problem that I think I have solved, no pun intended Wandita, but it’s not my biggest problem. My biggest on is margins. Most have said that one-inch margins should be used on all sides, but a few have said it should be one and a fourth inch on each side. Who is right. According to the 2016 article, it should be one inch. That means the characters per line is sixty-five, right? The only problem is when published it’s sixty, right? Should it be sixty for the manuscript too? Unless that is why Times New Roman is preferred. It becomes sixty instead of sixty-five with that Font. Another problem I have been having has been the number of lines per page. I went to the library to check out some novels, and oh boy am I glad that I did that. It turns out I have been wrong about lines per page too. What I found out that the normal sized book is between thirty-two and thirty-six lines per page. Science Fiction and Action/Adventures appear to be the thirty-six-line type. Which mean I have no other choice but to start my Wandita novel again. Right now, they are about a manuscript page too much. I need to write three manuscript pages to equal two book pages. Which is what I am trying to do. Each part of my novels is about two page long. That will equal a ten-page Chapter. Which will result in a four-hundred-and-twenty-page book. A little more than that because of my middle Preview Chapter.
