Wandita Setting Description – “Outside and Inside” Floating slightly above her spaceship Wandita looks down at it from above. A white yellowish glow surrounds her beautiful body. Wandita smiles as she looks at her spaceship. She starts with a five-level circular metal tube with the center of it filled in. Of course, she can’t see the levels from where she is at. Wandita can see the filled-in center in the middle of those levels. As she continues looking at the upper two levels Wandita floats around it. Suddenly, Wandita disappears and a few seconds later she reappears on the opposite side of it. Looking up what looks like the same as the top. The only difference is it’s on the bottom of it. There are a lot more squared bumps sticking out of it. Wandita begins floating around the outer edges of her spaceship. She stops when she gets to the back of it. It’s still as smooth as the rest of that spaceship without any seeable viewports, but there are four round red circles. These are the exit ports for the engines that control it. Only no flames ever come out of them. It’s just the red circles. A loud beeping sound wakes Wandita in her sleeping chamber. Wandita sits up in her sleeper and looks at the entrance to her chamber. “What is wrong with you now?” As Jessica gets off her sleeper the lights suddenly go off. She almost slips in the darkness. Her hands catch the edge of her sleeper seconds before she falls. Wandita keeps her left hand on her sleeper as she gets up. Using her hand Wandita heads for her entrance into that room. She starts with following her sleeper to the wall. Then she pats her way down the wall until she gets to the control frame for her entrance. Wandita taps the red button in the center of that frame, but nothing happens. She pushes it again. Once again, nothing happens. The third time she punches it. “Whatever is wrong this time it’s affecting the lights.” “I wonder if it’s all over my spaceship? There’s only one way to find out.” Wandita takes a hand weapon off her side, points it at the entrance, and fires a single laser ball at it. The ball just disappears into it. After Wandita fires about a hundred laser ball into that entrance it finally explodes outward into the corridor. It shatters into several hundred small metal pieces. Those pieces disappear a few seconds later. Wandita walks into that corridor and stops. She looks in both directions. “At least the lights are on in my corridors.” Wandita starts walking in the direction the beeping sound is coming from. The beeping gets louder the closer she gets to it. Just before she gets there, Wandita puts her hands over her ears and pushes in on them. Wandita stops at an entrance that the beeping is coming from. She looks at the words, ‘Food Eating and Preparation Area,’ above that entrance. With her hands still on her ears Wandita walks toward that entrance. It opens as she approaches it. Suddenly, she stops again. Wandita sniffs the air above her like a cloud of white of something floats out of that room. “What is that smell?” Crouching under the whiteness Wandita walks into that room. Wandita straightens after seeing the whiteness near the ceiling where she can see in several parts of it. She shouts, “Beeping Off.” A second later the beeping stops. Wandita sniffs the air again. She wrinkles her nose and coughs. “It smells familiar, but I can’t think of what it is. Wandita looks over at the entrances. She follows the whiteness emitting through it, to its beginning: the entrance into her Food Preparation. Continuing to sniff the strange smell with disdain on her face, Wandita walks into her Food Preparation. Wandita stops her sniffing and begins coughing again. Only she can’t control it this time. The whiteness in that room is almost everywhere. After about a minute of uncontrollable coughing Wandita says, “Clear this room.” A few seconds later the whiteness disappears. Wandita looks into the eating area. The whiteness appears to be gone from their too. At least it looks like it is from where she is at. Wandita returns her gaze at the room she is in. With her mouth open, her eyes bug out, and her eyebrows raised Wandita slowly scans that filthy room. It’s a disaster. Small pieces of food are everywhere: on the floors, walls, and ceiling. Wandita finishes her scan at a wall length large machine at the back of that room. It’s throwing the pieces of food from the center of it. Food is flying everywhere. Wandita ducks as a very large piece of food head her way. She sways one way, then the other, as two more slightly smaller pieces head her way. All three barely miss her. Just after straightening up again does she have to duck once more like two more pieces of food head for her. Only she’s unlucky about ducking it this time. the second piece enters her open mouth. She opens her mouth to say something just as the food enters it. Wandita gags a little as she gulps to swallow it. “I can’t believe I’m being attacked by a machine.” “This doesn’t taste too bad.” Wandita doesn’t try to get out of the way of three more pieces that come her way. She gulps all three without any trouble. “What does this taste like?” Wandita asks as she swallows two more easy pieces. Wandita smiles. “These taste like they smell. Which I know doesn’t make any sense. Because it smells terrible.” “Stop preparing my food,” shouts Wandita. A few seconds later the personal food fight ends. “Now I know why the beeping started,” says Wandita as she slowly scans that room. “What a mess. This is going to take forever to clean up.” Wandita leaves that room. Just before she walks out of it she says, “Clean up this mess.” “I will try to figure out why this has happened later.” Wandita starts walking down that corridor. Suddenly, Wandita stops and smiles. “I know what it tastes like. Can’t wait until my next eating period.” Word Count = 1,039 |
