Passkey Update & New Emoticons!

For the 5th day of our 18th Birthday Celebration...

We are happy to release an update to Passkeys! Passkeys were added to Writing.Com back in October 2002. Upgraded Members and above can create 4 to 8 digit numeric codes to allow specific individuals to access their private items.

That's how they started and they've remained the same for nearly 16 years... Until now.

Today, we're announcing that Passkeys are no longer just for numbers! Passkeys can now contain any combination of letters, numbers, dashes (-) and underscores (_) from 4 to 12 characters in length.

Want to use a SECRET_CODE for your Passkey? It'll work.
         18TH_BDAY
         PARTY-TIME
         123456789012
         _AWESOME_
         -FAR_OUT-
         COOL
... and on and on.

Passkeys are not case sensitive...
so GOOD_STUFF works the same as good_stuff.

This update opens up a lot of flexibility and creativity... we hope you enjoy it!
