Welcome To My Reality Prompts 11. What's the best gift you have ever received or given? I have received a lot of nice gifts. A Jane Austen Tea Pot and tea cups from The Jane Austen Shop in England. I love this gift. Other gifts: Snowbabies, Barbies, beautiful necklaces, original Dark Shadows series, Heartland DVD series, diamond watch, tea sets. For gifts I have given jewelry, Hallmark Collectibles, jewelry box, purse and I try to buy gifts I know that people will like. 12. What's the most memorable thing you have ever gotten in the mail? Authographed pictures of celebrities, Jane Austen Tea Set, Physical Merit Badges, Jane Austen Treasury Scrapbook, dolls, DVDS. 13. What nicknames have you ever gotten or given? I was called Snookers, Blondie, Catwoman {because I loved Catwoman. 14. What have you have learned in your teens? School wasn't so bad. I didn't have bills. I didn't have to go to school on weekends, the summer midnights. The only thing I had to worry about was passing subjects, go to the Prom, graduate, go to college and going out for Junior Miss and Miss Indiana Teen-ager. 15. What personal achievements make you proud? Having 2 books published, my son is a Psychologist, being in Junior Miss and Miss Indiana Teen-ager, getting to retire, being a Christian, nominated for Who's Who's In America. Having autographs of famous people. 16. What are some recent moments of happiness in your life? My abdomen Ct Scan was clear. I got to go to Frankenmuth, Michigan to the Christmas Store. 17. What are you grateful for? My health problems are being treated. I live in America. I was able to retire. I get to go to Church. 18. What rites of passage have you participated in? Going to Church and Bible Study. Being a friend. Being at WDC and being in contests. 19. What advice would you give kids about Middle or High School? Study. Don't get in trouble. Trust your parents. They know best. Don't be mean to other kids. Don't do drugs. 20. What can older people learn from your generation? Be thankful for each day. Go to Church. Pray for good things and praise from good things. 21. What do older generations misunderstand about yours? I am 62 and the older generation didn't like my music, short skirts, peace signs, protesting the Viet Nam War. We were trying to make a difference and love and peace was what it was all about back then. I still want love and peace and a better world. 22.Who is your family? Most of us are Christians, we have Native American blood in us, my great grandparents knew gypsies, John Dillinger lived near by in between bank robberies. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather started the church I go to now. My husband's father was a prominent farm family. We are hard working, caring and a good family but like every family, there is a bad egg or two. 23. What have you and your family accomplished together? Just going to Church and praying for others. Being there for each other and other people. Being animal lovers. 24. What events have bought you closer to family? Death of loved ones, illness, house fire, needing each other and knowing that life is short. 25. What's your role in your family? I used to be a QMA, Nurse and I help my family with medical problems. Being a caring person. Being a writer and they ask me how to write something. 26. Have you ever changed a family member's mind? Yes. My husband, my mother but I had to do some fancy, convincing talking. 27. How do you define family? Blood, love, worshipping, same DNA and yet family can be people you love and who are always there for you. 28. What are your family stories of sacrifice? Keeping the peace when a family member causes problems, praying for the situation, forgiving a cousin who said bad things about your son, nosey family members, just being there for each other but some you can't give second chances. My one aunt by marriage is jealous of everyone and her family turned out as jail birds, getting kicked out of school, drinking and my aunt says mean things about everyone. She is a jealous woman. IT is so sad. I leave her alone. 29. What possessions does your family treasure? Grandma's rings, pictures, an old fiddle, books my grandfather had, an old red wagon, a red velvet recliner, an old writing desk, a old China Hutch. 30. What hobbies have passed down in your family? Scrapbooking, taking pictures, maybe writing, knitting, doing crafts. |
