It says :Faith, hope, and charity, but the greatest of these is charity" in I Corinthians 13:13 The NIV and others use love in the place of charity. Faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love." Love is what God created human beings for. Yes we are to do different types of work to support ourselves but our purpose is to love one another and to love God. Jesus summed up the Ten Commandments when He said "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Mark 12: 30. Faith, hope, charity, and love are important but love satisfies them all. ![]() ![]() Is this good advice and do you think it is doable?" I think Eleanor Roosevelt is wrong. Our ambition in life should be to love the Lord Jesus Christ and do His will. We can earn all the money in the world but I have yet to see a rich person take their money with them to the grave. We all die and then we are judged by the Lord Jesus Christ. If we have not accepted Him as our Lord and Savior we are condemned. Jesus condemns nobody. He has made the way for us to avoid condemnation. By refusing to accept Him we condemn ourselves. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
