It is humane to survive, but how many times have you done something special to be the best at what you do? If we hold ourselves back, it keeps us away from our potential success. What all you must control:-
1. Don't look at scorecard - When you get ahead in game or life, you might change how you work towards your goals. Dont worry about rankings, rewards, records, competition, just avoid looking at them, it pays off. Don't be relieved when you are successful and don't get frustrated when you fail. Only concern yourself with what you do. Focus, practice maintaining focus, worth all your efforts.
2. Climb the mountain, watch your step - acknowledge that you don't have all answers. A mistake in business may not be life threatening but pertinent learning. Closer to summit it is tougher.
3. Decide what is not important. The temptation to loose focus is constant. Balance is crucial. Take an inventory of yourself.
4. Being focused does not mean having tunnel vision - see the big picture. Successful people are normally continually successful.
5. Focus on centre as lack of focus can be lack of experience.
6. Accept that you will make mistakes and don't dwell on them.
7. Lessons should be learned in success and failure. Don't be complacent, impose self-restriction, voice your reason and always honour competition.

When an opportunity presents, approach the challenge, think about outcome and honour in how you compete.

Regardless of outcome you can not truly loose...
