Caccia: "Hunting After Finding Before Lunch"

The trumpets blare, "A toot-ta-toot!" swift going,
our quarry's hidden
in a thicket of pages.

Swish! Swish! The machete tears through black and white
in search of right words.
Many words are to be found.

Hush! For in the "H"s find the word, "Hunting."
Hounds are howling hard.
Habit from their youth, I hope.

Fast we fly to "F" for finding our "Finding."
Fizzle first we flop!
Fresh we search to feast our eyes.

Lurch we low at last to lift our form to lunch,
languid lips laugh, leap,
which follows "hunting," "finding."

Shredded pages chortle "Callou! Callay!" cheer.
The words are ours, "Yay!"
This story's writ! Our day done!

French Horn sounds the vict'ry call!
