The Saga of Prosperous Snow Continues |
Entry three of ten for "The Bard's Hall Contest" This entry was inspired by the "Blogging Circle of Friends " prompt for DAY 2034 There are two great days in a person's life - the day we are born and the day we discover why. William Barclay The Reason I Was Born He who is the Pen of the Almighty1, Revealed to me the reason for my birth, Written in words of exquisite beauty. Awestruck my spirit rose in joyful mirth, Proclaiming its undying gratitude To know the reason it was born on Earth. This knowledge expanded my certitude, It increased from a tiny mustard seed, By ninety in order of magnitude. Praise and thanksgiving has become my creed, Happiness is knowing why I was born, Because from fear of sin my soul is freed. My praise and worship ascends every morn, As I intone the word of God's Glory2: To praise and know God was why I was born. I intone praise to God through His Glory, Give thanks knowing the reason for my birth, Each day I ponder religion's story3. I was born to know, love, and worship God, I read His scared scriptures and I am awed; He who is the Pen of the Almighty, Written in words of exquisite beauty. Poet's Note: ▼ Footnotes |
