1 Security I rest secure within Thy Covenant, O Lord, Safe from the darts of idle fancy and vain imaginings. 2 Sacred Silence Sanctified from the tumult of materiality, Mind reposes upon the sea of tranquility, Blessed with the hush of contemplation, Floating upon the current of meditation, Contemplating the revealed Word of God. 3 Self-Improvement The effort made by the individual to unlock her own human potential, and discover her true self. 4 The Scent of Roses I know the Master is with me Standing right beside me For I detect the scent of roses in the air Unseen by the eyes of matter He stands beside my chair Releasing the scent of roses into the air 5 Soul on the Material Plane Blue glazed planter peeks from embrace of green ivy and brown macramé. 6 Seasonal Changes The seasons change The cycles turn Life moves evolves goes forward From conception to birth From birth to death While in between We evolve in body mind spirit We must advance Or remain in place be left behind 7 Seeking God At the boundary of vision The tree line obscures The receding horizon 8 Death's Riddle A messenger of joy, whose gleaming two edged sword severs the umbilical cord joining body and soul. 9 DNA DNA's spiral staircase descends to the next generation while ascending the ladder of evolution. 10 Death The door to eternal life in all the worlds of God, the messenger of joy, and herald of immortality. 11 On the Edge Poised on the edge Ready to overflow Tears unshed Wait in the Silence of twilight To inudate 12 Sacred Silence On a cloudy day the silence borders on the sacred, like a jazz ensemble playing gospel. The cloudy silence is a poem penned in a cathedral, whose stanzas build to a climax like Handel's Messiah. Descending in blinding sheets, the silence cleanses the mind, like a blues song sang by a gospel choir. 13 Word of God The Word of God is the Bread of life, Without it my soul is a vane blown in the winds of strife. 14 Glory To God Glory to God in the Highest! Peace to His people on earth! Christian Hymn Glory to God in the Highest! Adoration to His Promised One Who out of the clouds of glory, Descends through the mercy of God, Honor to God in the All-Glorious, Peace to His people on earth! Reconciliation to the planet's inhabitants, Through the return of their Lord, Who revealed the New Jerusalem, Through the Glory of God. 15 Self-Improvement Little by little, day by day, I strive to tread the narrow way. 16 Climbing Mountains To attain the object of her quest, The seeker must never rest, But must ascend the mountains, That separate the valleys of faith. 17 Cathedral Beneath a canopy of stars, Gather the followers of light, Eyes blazing with love's fire. 18 God's Love God sees us as we can be, But loves us as we are. Author Unknowns God sees the soul within, That weeps in silent agony; Sees the potential hidden In the victims of starvation. God loves the flowers of His garden; The rainbow of humanity; He loves the faithful of all creeds, And the nonbelievers. 19 Paradigm Shift The mind constructs a model of reality; a paradigm it accepts as reality. Input from the world at large, form interactions between self and humanity, affect the model causing the mind to edit, to change the paradigm. Poet's Note: ▼ |
