Double Rainbow and Rainbow
Double Rainbow
Spanning the valley of the shadow,
the bridge of God's Covenant
unites humanity.
The colors of faith form three distinct rows:
Red, yellow, and blue
cast shadows on mind, body, and soul.
Clouds of despair separate the two,
hiding the second arch
from humanity's view.
Rainbow
The multicolored arc of God's covenant,
Brushed upon the deep gray vault of fear,
Subdues the quick flashes of energy,
Hopping from cloud to cloud,
Dancing from could to ground.
I wrote both of these poems in 149 B.E. The first was inspired by seeing a double rainbow, as I was driving to work at CCSN in Henderson. Every time I see a double rainbow, I am reminded of the Bab and Baha'u'llah. The second by a single rainbow.
