Mother's Day

My son is often a stranger
that disappoints.
As I bedevil him.
Eagle fledglings aren't thrown
from the nest
but forced to fly for food.
What mother gives stones
when asked for bread?
I will stifle my growls
of discontent,
and offer such snatches of light
as I possess.
