A Change of Habit

since you’ve stopped
looking the other way,
you closed the book
on him
and dropped your empty moans
now, you are a rock
loose from the ledge
losing the sky and the stars
and you let yourself fall
into a deep trench in the sea
shivering with
an animated thought
that you cannot ever
roll back
