Sunday, March 18, 2018 The Sunday News prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" Rather than me providing you a link and asking your opinion, why don't you just tell us what's good in your neighborhood this week. My Neighborhood My neighborhood is the planet, my neighbors are humanity, and brother and sisters in my faith. Good News in My Life On March 16, 2018, after ten years of imprisonment on false charges, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani was released from an Iranian prison. Mr. Khanjani, who is 85 years old, was imprisoned with seven other Baha'is because they were part of the Yaran. After the Iranian government declared Baha'i institutions illegal in the 1980s the Yaran oversaw the needs of the Baha'i community in Iran. Baha'is in Iran face imprisonment, removal from jobs, removal from educational institutions, and closing of their businesses by the government because of the faith. "The treatment accorded to Mr. Khanjani and other members of the Yaran throughout their lives represents the treatment suffered by the entire Baha’i community for generations.” Bani Dugal (Referring to the imprisonment of the Yaran.)1 As we wait for the release of the rest of the Yaran, we pray for their protection and steadfastness.
